Would the teacher tell me what poses to do for a figure drawing class if I were to model for one ?
I was thinking of being a nude model for a figure drawing class.
But, does the teacher tell he how to pose, or do I have to think of poses to do myself ?
If you’re just starting out the teacher will usually give you some direction. The exception might be for gesture poses usually done in the beginning of the session. Gestures are a series of quick poses (one minute) to warm both the artists and model up. They are usually poses that show some sort of action or gestures (hence the name)
As you get more experience you’ll most likely select your own poses.
