What exactly do i need to trigger my Drum Set?
I know i need the triggers themselves and cables to go to the module and the module itself. I guess a P.A. speaker to play out of right? Would there be a problem triggering 2 bass drums for double bass?
Been triggering a long time and I’ll never go back to mics for kick and toms. I do mic the snare and cymbals though. All you need is the triggers, the cables and a controller. The trigger just plugs into the input of the controller and the controller into the PA. I use ddrum Pro triggers, but the Roland triggers are nice also. Don’t get any other triggers than these!! ddrum also makes a less expensive trigger called the Red Shot and I haven’t heard great reviews on those. In the ddrum Pro line there are 3 different types of triggers, Bass Drum, snare drum and toms so keep that in mind, Here are a few controllers to consider. I use a ddrum controller which is no longer made and quite pricey, but I say in with a band this past weekend that used the Alesis DM5 and it sounded very good. No pproblem with two bass drums, you’ll just need two bass triggers. The only difference in bass triggers is that they fit on the much thicker wooden bass drum hoop compared to a rim.
